These changes at the neurobiological level are accompanied by an increased ability to relate to each other, reductions in anxiety, and increases in trust and expressiveness.

There are many levels to the person-centered approach, and research is accumulating at each. Figure 3.2 provides a model of how the approach is manifested and researched at these levels. The interdisciplinary applications and research provide unique bridges to explain how the approach works and suggest modifications in contextually specific situations in light of the findings of other fields.
